The "Worst Restaurant Meal in America" ...and It's at Long John Silver's

Jul 10, 2013 -- 8:22am

Long John Silver's is one of those fast food restaurants everyone forgets about when they're listing fast food restaurants.  So . . . good for them for being relevant enough to win an award!  Even THIS award.

A nonprofit called Center for Science in the Public Interest just named Long John Silver's Big Catch the WORST RESTAURANT MEAL IN AMERICA.

The Big Catch is a piece of fried fish along with hush puppies and onion rings.  Basically, it's a huge plate of fried food.  It's "only" got 1,320 calories . . . but that's not why it won the award.

It was named the Worst Meal because of its 33 GRAMS of trans fat . . . that's the really, really bad fat.  It's also got another 19 grams of saturated fat, which is the pretty bad fat.

The meal also contains about four-and-a-half ounces of fish covered in THREE OUNCES of batter.
