Greater Mankato Growth President and CEO Jonathan Zierdt has announced that he will step down on March 15 to focus on his health and the pursuit of personal interests.
Zierdt has led the organization he helped develop since its start in 2007. He said after a 30-year-career, he will focus on his health – Zierdt has been battling cancer since 2013 – as well as the work of the Jonathan Zierdt Cancer Fund and other interests.
GMG Board Chair Ron Vetter said, “Jonathan has created an admired and financially-sound organization.” He added that although they, “Will miss his leadership and inspiration, we whole-heartedly support his decision to make his health and quality of life top priorities.”
The GMG board of directors will immediately begin a national search for Zierdt’s successor and Vice President Patrick Baker will continue to run day-to-day operations.
