While 35-year-old Sam Williams of Elmhurst, Illinois, is confined to a wheelchair because of cerebral palsy — it doesn’t mean he’s not a busy guy. He goes to classes. He coaches. He does charity work.
But to get around town, he’s had to take public transportation. Until now, that is.
The Elmhurst community wanted to support Sam and make his life easier, so they raised $50,000 for a customized minivan that lets him travel with much more ease and comfort. And, as an added bonus, he’ll once again be able to go places with his own kids.
Upon receiving the van, Sam was certainly happy and grateful.
And, everyone who was a part of the effort to help Sam was able to see the power of the community to give back to a guy who inspires them with his determination and optimism.
